It was a pleasure to meet both Sally and Virginia Mann, at the "Sally Mann in conversation with Camilla Brown" session at the National Portrait Gallery last week. The conversation was very engaging. The main topics of discussion centered around "What remains", "Immediate Family" and the wet plate collodian technique followed by a lively discussion on Mann's new body of work which evolves around the theme of slavery/racism/religion. Six "work-in-progress" images were shown for the first time and the London audience were invited to respond. Sally Mann: "The Family and the Land" exhibition is on at The Photographers Gallery London until 19th September 2010.

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don't have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn't write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.
I can't figure out how to subscribe to the comments via my reader . I want to keep on top of this, how do I do that?
Thanks for the advice. Will put it to work. Tom
I couldn’t resist commenting. :)
Always have to comment , I can't help it ! Thanks Sasha :)
Gracias por compartir su maestría en esta área. Hay mucho Info inútil en esto que flota alrededor y aprecio su trabajo duro.
Thanks!
Hey, I think your really on point with this, I can't say I totally agree , but its not really that big of a issue.
Hey this is a great write up. Can I use part of it on my website ? I would of course link to your site so people could read the full post if they wanted to. Thanks either way.
I was just doing some surfing on my Jack Phone during my break at my work place, and I came across something I thought was intriguing. It linked to your website so I hopped over. I can't really figure out the relevance between your site and the one I came from, but your site good none the less .
I was just talking with my coworker about this last week over lunch . Don't remember how we landed on the topic actually , they brought it up. I do recall eating a excellent steak salad with ranch on it. I digress...
@ Jim I know what your mean. In todays economy its tough to find a company to work for that pays good enough to live on and is stable . I have found that if you just work hard and are consistent you can succeed. Look at the poster of this page , they are clearly a hard worker and have just been consistent over time and are now enjoying at least what would appear as somewhat of a success. I would encourage everyone to just keep hustling and moving forward.
These tips are so true
